Monaco Impis

My ideal project is to work with a team or organisation over a period of time, to be able to build up rapport and begin to understand what motivates them, indeed their purpose

In 23 and 24 Melrose 7s I was delighted to work with the Monaco Impis rugby team Fédération Monégasque de Rugby as they prepared and played in the Melrose 7s tournament

In work I have been fascinated by helping people and organisations understand their Purpose, as Simon Sinek would say "understanding your Why" is critical to sustainable success. Clearly for this team it was about coming together as a team, actually as a family, to achieve their true potential.

However it was more than that for the Impis. The team are, in part sponsored by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, which was set up in 2012 and has funded over 140 project across 33 countries to help prevent drowning. Every year over 2 million people die from drowning, the vast majority of which are children. So this is a very important cause. "Sport has the power to inspire young people and transform lives. This is the central idea that prompted Princess Charlene of Monaco to launch the Foundation, that would work to end death and disease caused by water fatalities"

What I hadn't realised was that RNLI partner with the Foundation and work all over the world to help teach people to swim. So it was great to to capture some of the moments with the Monaco Impis together with some of the volunteers from RNLI Eyemouth as they ran a session for the Berwickshire High School Easter Camp on life saving and of course some rugby skills.
